Toyota Prius Helps Boost Profit

Posted in Toyota Prius

St. Peters MOToyota is proud to announce their projected tripled income profits for fiscal year 2013. After several years of decline in sales, this is good news for the auto maker. According to autonews.com this is a come-back after projected 33% declines in the latest fiscal year. They are making it happen largely with their best-selling cars on the market. The Toyota Prius is helping to reach these new heights for the manufacturer.

The Prius is currently in its third generation, which is a huge accomplishment above other hybrid manufacturers who are still in the first phases of hybrid making technology. The Prius runs on a 1.8-liter gasoline engine and puts out 98 horsepower with 105 pound-feet of torque. The Prius utilizes hybrid technology by functioning with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) which essentially “shuts-off” when the car isn’t in motion…hence saving the driver on fuel. The Prius has an estimated combined fuel economy of 50 mpg (51 city/48 highway).

Now is the time to purchase a Prius as interest rates continue to reach lows that any buyer can be excited about. According to autonews.com people are borrowing money for things like cars more and more every day. Loans increased by 10.2% in March which is the largest monthly increase since November of 2001 following 9-11 and the zero percent interest rates the country saw at that time.

Toyota strives to provide the best incentives and financing options in the business and right now you can find great deals on the St. Louis Toyota Prius at your local Weiss dealer. Come in and check out the different models of the Prius and choose the one that fits you the best. A finance expert will be on hand to answer any questions you have.

New Moms Choose the Toyota Prius

Posted in Toyota Prius

O'Fallon St. Peters MOA new mom often battles over the best vehicle choice for their little one. Once a new bundle of joy comes along, choosing a car is no longer just about how the car looks or all of the bells and whistles that it may have. It is also about safety, comfort, and size. It is a common misconception that a mom must own a minivan and gone are the days when women are categorized as soccer moms in SUV’s. As the economy evolves, so does the “typical” car that a new mom chooses to drive.

In a recent study published by cars.about.com the Toyota Prius was found to be one of the top ten cars for moms. It is labeled as a “practical 5-door hatchback that offers all the space and practicality that busy mothers need in their cars.” And let’s face it, what mom doesn’t need space in their vehicle? Better yet, what siblings don’t need space?

As with any new mom, safety is the top concern when choosing a new vehicle. The Toyota Prius offers many safety features such as: child seat anchors, rear door child safety locks, front and rear head air bags as well as dual front side-mounted air bags to name a few. Did we mention that the Toyota Prius is also environmentally friendly? It boasts a combined fuel economy of 48MPG, which is something that a van or SUV can’t compare to. As a new mom, the budget is always a factor in deciding about a new car purchase, so this is refreshing news. If you are a mom who is looking for style, comfort, space, and safety look no further. You can visit your local Toyota dealer St. Louis Missouri and ask to test drive a new or pre-owned Toyota Prius today.

Speeding Accounts for Thousands of Fatalities

Posted in Toyota Prius

Hazelwood MOIn some ways drivers are getting better at avoiding traffic accidents and other citations. However, a recent study performed by the Governors Highway Safety Association, speeding and aggressive driving are continued problems. They are keeping the rate of fatalities from decreasing even further. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 32, 885 people lost their lives on the roads of the United States in 2010. While this may seem like a lot, it actually aligns with the number in the 1950’s. During 2010 America had 1.1 fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles. It was the lowest on record to date.

Of the 32, 885 people killed in 2010, roughly 10, 530 were caused by speeding. This proves that speeding still has a great impact on traffic fatalities. It continues to be a problem across the country. The GHSA has suggested that many states consider adopting laws against aggressive driving which would include speeding. Many people would consider themselves to be one who adheres to the speed limit. However, in reality, going just 5 miles per hour over the speed limit is considered speeding. There are several reason why adhering to the set speed limit is appropriate during all driving times.

Exceeding the speed limit drastically reduces your reaction time. As a result, you are at an increased risk of being involved in a potentially fatal accident. Speed limits are set in order to provide ample reaction time for vehicles in order to avoid potential accidents. Driving vehicles which are full of safety features is also a great way to protect you if involved in an accident. The Toyota Prius car is one that is equipped with the Star Safety System. It will also achieve maximum fuel economy if you travel at the intended speed limit.  Buy or lease a Toyota Prius St. Louis car at your local Weiss Toyota dealer in MO.

New Cars in Higher Demand than Used Cars

Posted in Toyota Prius

Research is showing that used car prices will continue to rise over the next year. This phenomenon will in turn equate to more affordable new car prices. According to the Used Car Guide from the National Automobile Dealers Association there will be a 1.8 percent increase in the cost of used cars during 2012. In addition there is still a much shorter supply of used cars to choose from. This will naturally push buyers towards newer vehicles.

The NADA also is predicting that new cars will be sold at a faster rate than they have been in years. During the fall of the economy many consumers were choosing to hold onto their vehicles for much longer as there was less of a chance of them earning a great return on their investment. Toyota Plans for 2012 Include Hybrids

Posted in Toyota Prius

MOThe past year proved to be lucrative for most auto makers. Domestic brands seemed to finally take a foothold in the economy and make great leaps and bounds towards further recovery. Now many of them are sitting more solidly than the overall economic structure. However, the international auto brands struggled a bit more, due to unforeseen events. Without these events many believe they would’ve been in the same position as domestic brands.

Early in the year the Toyota Motor Corporation was still regaining ground and trust with buyers following their large recall for unintended acceleration. Following this they country of Japan was hit with an earthquake and tsunami, with flooding in Thailand following soon after. These events forced Toyota as well as others to change the way the produced their vehicles and parts on a temporary basis. It wasn’t until the final few months of the year that decent headway was made by such companies. Many of them came out even for the year, or up slightly.

The Toyota Motor Corporation has big plans for the 2012 year. Not only will they be debuting new vehicles but they are expecting to have a less eventful year in terms of process changes. They are hoping to keep their focus remained on their vehicles and development, rather than putting out fires so to speak. They will be adding to the Toyota Prius line of vehicles. This expansion is part of their project to deliver more hybrid vehicles to the U.S. market. Since the fall of the American economy the demand for hybrid cars and more fuel efficient cars has increased dramatically. The Toyota Prius St Louis, in particular, has grown tremendously in popularity.

Disqualified for Zero Percent Financing?

Posted in Toyota Prius

St. Peters MOEach year dealerships across the nation run certain incentives and deals throughout the entire year. While many of these may be vehicle model specific others are geared strictly toward vehicle financing. One of the most popular incentives to run is a zero percent financing plan. This is actually one of the most motivating incentives to buyers according to the J.D. Power and Associates Dealer Finance Study. However, this is one of those incentives you must read the fine print to truly understand.

Typically those qualifying for the Zero percent financing incentive are those with pristine credit, and nothing less. This usually leaves the majority of buyers disqualified. However, Zero percent financing can be the difference of buying a car or not for some. This is one of the reasons to work to get a better credit score. You can easily obtain a personal credit report via several online resources. Be sure the establishment is accredited before giving them personal information. Once you have this report you can see exactly where your energy needs to be focused. Raising your credit score certainly takes time and patience, but will definitely pay off in dividends.

Those looking to take advantage of the Zero percent financing incentive are those looking to keep the cost of owning a vehicle low and manageable. However, you don’t have to settle for a high cost of ownership just because you don’t qualify for Zero percent financing. Instead look for a vehicle which offers a low cost of ownership. For instance, the Toyota Prius has a low cost of ownership. It is highly affordable due to its years of success in sales. It also achieves excellent fuel mileage, saving you greatly on fuel costs. Toyota recently decided to extend the line of Toyota Prius cars. You can contact your local dealership for information regarding the extended Prius family.
